Andrew C. Carington
Andy is Standard Media’s Chief Legal Officer. Previously, Andy served Media General, Inc., a publicly-held corporation, as its Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, where he started in 2001. At Media General, he was a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for formulating and implementing the Company’s strategic and transactional objectives resulting in the successful transformation of Media General from a predominantly newspaper company (with a market capitalization of $125 million) to a TV broadcasting and digital company (with a market capitalization of $2.3 billion) and the sale of the Company to Nexstar Media Group.
Additionally, he directed the Company’s FCC and SEC reporting and compliance, managed the Company’s litigation, and advised on all material agreements, digital acquisitions and intellectual property compliance and licensing matters. He also managed Human Resources for the Company on an interim basis. From 1999 to 2001, he served as counsel for Georgia Pacific. Andy graduated from Denison University and the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law.
